How to install the Soler Performance Electronic Throttle Controller
Hey guys, it's Lyle from C&S Corvettes. Recently, I made a video discussing the new solar throttle programmers that we're offering for the C6, C7, and C8. I noticed that there weren't any installation videos available for this unit, so I wanted to bring you to the shop. Today, I have a customer's beautiful C606 here, and I'd like to show you a couple of tips on how to access the plug at the throttle pedal for the installation. Once you've accessed the plug, it's just a matter of plugging one end into the pedal and the other end into the unplugged harness.
Now, for ease of access, I highly recommend removing the panel located directly under the left side of the dash. This panel is held in place by three Christmas Tree Clips. You can easily remove them using a fork or a pry tool. There's also a small courtesy light that you'll need to slide out and let dangle. Don't worry, we'll see it when we get inside the car. Once you've removed the panel, it'll be easier to navigate, and you can simply snap it back in place when you're done.
Now, let's take a look inside the car. I'm going to do some filming while holding the light, so bear with me. As you can see, here's your gas pedal. If you look up, you'll notice a large plug at the top of the gas pedal. On that plug, you'll see a little gray shield on the upper right side. Lift that shield upward toward the dashboard, and it will allow you to access the push button. You need to press that button to the left in order to release the plug. Unfortunately, I can't demonstrate it while filming, but that's the spot you need to reach. Once you've unplugged it, simply connect the programmer on one side to the gas pedal, and plug the other side into the programmer. Finally, zip tie the programmer in place, put the panel back, and you're all set.
I must warn you, though, that accessing this plug is quite challenging. Even with the car on the lift, I can barely reach it. So, take your time, ensure you're in a comfortable and safe position to do this. That's all there is to it. I apologize for not being able to provide a better view, but I wanted to give you an idea of what you'll be facing, especially when it comes to unplugging that one plug.
I hope this information is helpful. Thanks for watching!
